People Pursuing Passions

Staples Rodway’s underlying community philosophy is people pursuing passions.

Our people spend thousands of hours per year volunteering – sitting on boards, providing key accounting services at low or no cost to organisations that couldn’t operate without them, we consider to be part our firm culture, and part of our national culture.

We have over 400 directors and employees around the country who are active members of their local communities and we, as a business, give time and money to their causes. Each office is actively encouraged to give generously to their local community. Every year, around the country our teams take part in Pink Ribbon Day, Steptember, Movember and many other fundraising initiatives, raising thousands of dollars for worthwhile causes.

Nationwide, Staples Rodway supports CanTeen and its 3000 young people living in the shadow of cancer. To do this we provide financial support as well as reduced rate services, pro bono work, training and participation in collection days.

Every day cancer disruptions the lives of 10 more young people in New Zealander and CanTeen is the only New Zealand organisation dedicated to supporting people aged 13-24 who are dealing with cancer. Staples Rodway is proud to support support CanTeen’s unique approach where young people hold leadership roles within the organisation at a regional and National Board level. Staples Rodway wanted to help by add real value to CanTeen’s operations and we do this by providing our expertise and the mentoring that we provide to CanTeen’s members.

John Wadams Memorial Fund

In recognition of the immense contribution that John Wadams and our founding partners made to the creation of what Staples Rodway is today, and in the spirit of giving back to the community, Staples Rodway is pleased to announce that we have established a John Wadams Memorial Fund through the Auckland Foundation.

The Fund will provide help to people who require financial assistance to further their education or obtain further tertiary qualifications, in the field of accounting.

Staples Rodway Auckland staff spend over 1,900 hours per year volunteering by sitting on boards and performing pro-bono or reduced cost accounting, advisory and HR services for causes they are passionate about.

Staples Rodway Auckland recently celebrated becoming the first New Zealand accounting firm to receive CEMARS (Certified Emissions Management and Reduction Scheme) accreditation through Enviro-mark solutions. As financial experts, we’re keen to show clients that cutting carbon emissions makes good business sense.

Lifewise are an Auckland-based community social development organisation, who develop new ways to solve challenging social issues and work with families, older people, people with disabilities, and people at risk of homelessness to turn people’s lives around. Staples Rodway supports Lifewise through a ‘Lifewise charity drive’ providing Christmas presents to those in challenging circumstances being supported by Lifewise.
