Carolyn, who has been with Staples Rodway for over 15 years, is one of the firms 9 Directors. Carolyn’s extensive knowledge of the industry has led her to become Head of our busy Audit department where she supports our clients by providing the highest levels of quality and professional standards in the provision of audit, assurance and risk management services.

As well as being a qualified Auditor, Carolyn is an experienced tax advisor, supporting clients to understand complex tax issues. Advising companies on tax efficient structures for offshore business, complex land transactions, GST implications in relation to international and domestic structures, and resolution of tax disputes are just some of the areas she covers (whilst also being a mother of 3 children!).

Throughout her career Carolyn has had extensive experience working on the audits of small to large private companies and organisations as well as not-for-profit entities in New Zealand. As an officer of various local not-for-profit organisations, Carolyn has a passion for helping others in her community.

Her extensive Audit and Tax experience means she can support businesses in a number of ways and as the only Licensed Auditor in Taranaki under the Auditor Regulation Act 2011; she is consequently licensed to audit FMC Reporting entities.

    Proposed Changes in PAYE Reporting

    The Government has announced proposed changes to the New Zealand’s tax system to make it simpler and more certain for many. The proposed changes, which are likely to be included in a tax bill to be introduced to Parliament in 2017, have been outlined here.
